Imagine your loved one is in the Intensive Care Unit or the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or maybe is receiving daily chemo treatments, 80 miles away, and cannot go home….
Now imagine you want to stay with them, to support them and comfort them, but you do not have the means to pay for a hotel or there are none available….
Most of us don’t plan for the medical conditions and complications that arise in our life. They can come at a time when we least expect it and seeking medical care in a community outside your hometown can be difficult. It creates a financial burden and can separate families. Having a loved one near during a hospital stay is important in the care and recovery process, but financing out-of-pocket lodging can be costly.
That’s where the Sunshine Hospitality Home can help. This proposed project will be a place for patients and their families, affected by critical illnesses, diseases and injuries, who must travel to fulfill their healthcare needs. It will seek to provide low or no cost housing options to patient families, their caregivers or in cases of extended therapy or treatment, maybe even the patient themselves.
A hospitality house provides individuals with a place to sleep, eat, keep their belongings, relax and find comfort. It will be open to all ages and situations and will welcome families from the Grand Forks area and surrounding region. It will be a place of compassion and peace. Your help can make the difference.
