Here’s the schedule

With these very cold days of winter we’ve been experiencing lately, I for one could use a little sunshine! Thankfully the details are coming together, the committees are working harder than ever and soon February 7 will be here. Yay!

You really should register if you haven’t already. Just click here to get that out of the way. It will only take a few minutes and you’ll be all set.

There will be so many things happening at Sunshine Fest that I figured we should all have a more specific schedule.

This will be a place for patients and their families, affected by critical illnesses, diseases and, injuries, that must travel to Grand Forks to fulfill their healthcare needs. A hospitality house provides individuals with a place to sleep, eat, keep their belongings, relax and find comfort. It will be open to all ages and situations and will welcome families from the Grand Forks and surrounding region.

Health and Wellness Fair

There will be so many wonderful and fun activities happening on February 7. I’m excited to see and learn from the Health and Wellness Fair. This is a big part of Sunshine Fest. Any health and wellness related organizations are invited to display their resources and services for participants. I’ve heard you can walk through it all at one time or make a few stops with each lap! Here are a few pictures from previous fairs.

One organization that has already signed up for this year’s event is the Grand Forks Senior Center. Melissa Korslien (not pictured), Public Relations Manager of the Senior Center, is excited for February.

“The Grand Forks Senior Center is excited to exhibit again at the Sunshine Fest Health & Wellness Fair. This event fits with our mission to help older adults live healthy and independent lives. We put “sunshine” into the lives of seniors through nutrition, health services, resource counseling, transportation assistance and life enrichment activities.”

I would like to invite your organization to participate and set up a display. Non-profits can have a booth for free and businesses are asked for a $100 registration fee. Not bad to get in front of hundreds of people having fun! To get registered today, click here or call Tammy Gulberg at 701-746-8960. Showcase your business, services or organization! And for those of us who will just be there to check it out…Come and learn what our community has to offer to keep you going!

MED_3006Also a big thanks to this year’s sponsors of the Health and Wellness Fair: Sanny & Jerry Ryan Center for Prevention & Genetics – Altru & Truyu – Altru. With access to key professionals and state-of-the-art technology, the Sanny & Jerry Ryan Center for Prevention & Genetics uses genetic information to help people understand their risks, prevent, help manage, and, in some cases, reduce the expression of inherited disease. Truyu offers a variety of surgical and non-surgical procedures, services and products to rejuvenate your look.

So much fun coming so quickly! Don’t miss it!

Until then,
